Description

A little sweetness that helps your plants climb stronger.

Meet the Honey Bee Plant Trellis—a compact honeycomb lattice topped with our cheerful bee, designed to give vining plants something solid to cling to. Training stems up a trellis improves airflow, reduces breakage, and shows off foliage and blooms instead of letting them sprawl. Cut from 1/8‑inch Corten steel, the trellis develops a warm, protective patina that looks beautiful in terracotta, ceramic, or concrete planters and stands up to sun, rain, and seasons of growth. Pop it into a pot with pothos, hoya, philodendron, mandevilla, clematis—or set it in a herb bed as a tidy vertical accent. Small footprint, big lift.

Stake, guide, and watch the climb begin.

  1. Pick the spot – choose a stable pot (6–12") or a prepared bed with loose soil.
  2. Insert the stake – press straight down, keeping roots to the side if possible.
  3. Set the angle – a slight backward lean leaves room for new growth to weave.
  4. Tie gently – use soft ties or twine to guide stems onto the honeycomb.
  5. Water & rotate – keep soil moist and rotate weekly so growth stays even.

Top Tip: For fast training, pinch the tips after the third or fourth node—plants branch sooner and fill the hex pattern beautifully.

Which plants love this trellis most?
Great matches include pothos, philodendron, hoya, string of hearts, ivy, jasmine, mandevilla, black‑eyed Susan vine, sweet pea, and compact clematis varieties.

Is Corten safe for indoor pots?
Yes. The patina is a stable surface finish. For pale stone or porous shelves, place a coaster/saucer under the stake to catch any early weathering residue.

Will it fit my pot?
At 11.5" × 5", it suits most 6–12" planters. For very shallow pots, angle slightly and anchor with decorative stones.

Can I leave it outside year‑round?
Absolutely. Corten is designed for weather. The patina deepens and stabilizes over time—no varnish or paint required.

How do I train vines neatly?
Wrap soft ties in a loose figure‑eight around stem and trellis. Guide new shoots through the hexagons and trim stragglers to keep a clean outline.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.
