Every Metalbird is crafted from 1/8" American-made Corten® steel — the same weathering steel used in outdoor sculptures and architecture. It’s designed to age beautifully and last a lifetime.

Will it rust?
Not in the way you think! Corten develops a stable, rusty-looking patina that seals the surface and protects it from further corrosion. It won’t flake, stain, or degrade over time — even by the coast.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.
