Description

Some birds just feel like home.

This charming Pair of Chickadees is a quiet celebration of companionship—two little songbirds, side by side, sharing a branch and a moment. Whether it reminds you of your partner, your parents, or a friendship that’s stood the test of time, it’s a silhouette full of gentle meaning.

Crafted from 1/8-inch Corten® steel, it’s built to live outside, weathering into a warm patina over time. Tap it into a fence, post, or tree with a hammer, and it’ll hold its place through sun, snow, and everything in between.

It’s one of our most gifted pieces for anniversaries, weddings, or simply saying “I’m glad we’re in this together.” Minimal words, maximum feeling.

When you install it, you’re not just decorating your space—you’re joining the Metalbird Global Art Project, a worldwide celebration of memory, meaning, and art made personal.

How do I install my Metalbird?

Easy as. Hold the bird’s stake at a downward angle and gently tap the thickest end into a wooden post, tree, fence or beam using a hammer or mallet. You’re aiming for firm and secure—not a full-on fencing match.

Top install tips:

• Pick your spot first—ideally eye-level, where it catches light and draws attention

• Use the silhouette itself as a guide to mark the angle

• Start with a light tap to set the stake, then follow through until snug

• Don’t force it into hard timber—softwoods or untreated wood work best

• Want to add extra hold? Use a rubber mallet or pre-drill a pilot hole (5-6mm)

• Do not install into living trees unless you know what you’re doing

What’s it made from?

All Metalbirds are crafted from 1/8-inch Corten® steel—a weathering steel that forms a stable, rust-like patina over time. It’s tough, beautiful, and designed to last outdoors for decades.

Will it rust?

Not the flaky kind. Corten steel develops a protective patina that gives it that rich, weathered look while protecting the steel beneath. It’s part of the charm—and the durability.

Can I install it on a wall or inside?

Yes, but you'll need a different method. We recommend drilling and using screws or masonry plugs for solid surfaces. For interiors, some customers mount them on timber blocks or reclaimed wood for a gallery feel.

Where’s it made?

Right here in the USA—in a family-owned factory that shares our obsession with doing things properly.

Is this a good gift?

It’s one of our most gifted designs—perfect for anniversaries, memorials, or anyone who needs a little beauty in their backyard.

Can I include a gift message?

Absolutely. Add it at checkout and we’ll pop your message in with the order.

How fast will it arrive?

We ship the same day if you order before 2pm on a weekday. Delivery times vary, but we move fast.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.
