Description

Two cardinals. One kiss. A thousand feelings.

Not just beautiful, Cardinals are one of the few bird species that mate for life—and courtship looks a lot like love. The male feeds the female ‘beak to beak’, a gesture that looks just like a kiss. So of course, we had to immortalize it in steel.

Whether you’re celebrating a partner, honoring someone you’ve loved and lost, or just a hopeless romantic, our Kissing Cardinals are a striking, meaningful gift. Made from American Corten® steel, this piece is built to last as long as real devotion does.

✓ A moment of love, frozen in steel... Two cardinals, beak to beak, in one silhouette
✓ Symbol of loyalty and connection... Inspired by real cardinal courtship
✓ Size that makes a statement... 7.5" high x 11.5" wide, approx. 8oz
✓ Easy to send... Ships flat in an 11" x 8" x ¼" box
✓ Made locally... Crafted in a family-owned factory in the USA
✓ Built to last... Made from 1/8-inch American Corten® steel
✓ Simple to install... A few taps with a hammer and it’s home

Put this love story somewhere it can be seen.

1. Choose a sturdy wooden surface – A fence post, tree trunk, gate frame, or flower bed edge are all perfect.
2. Hold the stake at a downward angle – This gives you a clean entry and keeps it steady.
3. Tap the thick end of the stake with a hammer or mallet until secure.
4. Position at chest or eye height – The birds are small, so keep them close enough to be admired.

Top tip: Looks incredible silhouetted at sunset. Try placing it where late light will hit.

Do cardinals really “kiss”?
Kind of! During courtship, the male feeds the female ‘beak to beak’—it looks just like a kiss, and it’s where this design gets its name.

Is this a good gift for a partner or spouse?
It’s one of our most popular romantic gifts—ideal for anniversaries, weddings, or “just because.” A lasting tribute to lasting love.

Will it rust or stain wood?
Nope. It’s made from Corten® steel, which weathers into a protective patina without flaking or staining.

Can this be a memorial piece?
Absolutely. Cardinals are often seen as symbols of loved ones who’ve passed. This piece is often placed in gardens as a tribute.

Is this one piece or two separate birds?
It’s a single silhouette featuring both birds—no assembly needed, just tap it in and enjoy.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.
