Description

From the depths of Middle-earth to your backyard...

Summoned from shadow and flame, the Balrog™ is one of Tolkien’s most iconic creations—and now, thanks to our collaboration with Wētā Workshop, it’s been brought to life in steel. With whip raised and wings unfurled, this silhouette captures the sheer presence of the Balrog in a single, awe-inspiring form.

Designed by Wētā concept artists Simon Lissaman and Iona Brinch, and crafted from Corten® steel, this piece will develop a dark, weathered patina that suits its origin story. Whether it’s a tribute to your favorite epic or a symbol of inner strength, the Balrog makes a striking statement in any outdoor setting.

From the forge to your forest—placing your Balrog is simple.

1. Choose your terrain – Tree trunks, large fence posts, or stumps make excellent stage sets.
2. Hold the stake at a downward angle – It helps guide the silhouette into place.
3. Tap the thickest part with a hammer or mallet until firmly embedded.
4. Step back and behold – You've just installed a legend.

The Corten® steel will darken over time, forming a deep, elemental patina worthy of its name.

Is this an official Lord of the Rings piece?
Yes. This Balrog™ is officially licensed and designed in collaboration with Wētā Workshop—using artwork from their original concept artists, Simon Lissaman and Iona Brinch.

What’s it made from?
It’s cut from 1/8-inch Corten® weathering steel, designed to develop a dark, protective patina that enhances the silhouette and withstands the elements.

Where is it made?
Right here in the USA, in a locally owned, family-run factory. No Orc forges involved.

Will it rust?
Not in the destructive sense. The surface will weather into a rich patina, sealing and protecting the steel beneath. No flaking, no fading—just mythic aging.

Is this a good gift for a Lord of the Rings fan?
It’s the ultimate one. A rare collectible that blends Tolkien lore with outdoor art—equal parts tribute, talking point, and personal symbol.
