For this regular silhouette design:

Pick your spot – Trees, posts, fences, decks—anywhere with a solid wooden base.
Hold the bird at a slight downward angle – This gives you leverage and a clean tap.
Tap the thickest part of the stake using a hammer or mallet until it’s firmly in place.
