Description

Well, look who-who’s finally off his perch.

Our Great Horned Owl has spread his wings, and he's making quite the entrance. This magnificent bird is now flying solo, showing off his impressive wingspan and unmistakable attitude.

Known for their powerful flight, fierce stare and impressive feathered horns, Great Horned Owls are some of North America's most formidable birds of prey. They're silent hunters, masters of the night, and not the sort of bird you'd want giving you the side-eye.

Same great owl. A whole new altitude.

✓ Made in the USA: Proudly crafted locally, supporting American manufacturing and craftsmanship

1. Pick your perch: Find a sturdy wooden post, fence or tree trunk with a clear backdrop to show off those magnificent wings
2. Pre-drill if needed: Particularly for hardwood or dense timber
3. Position your owl: Hold your Metalbird in place and check the angle before securing it
4. Secure it firmly: Follow the supplied installation instructions and use the appropriate fixings for your mounting surface
5. Step back and admire: One Great Horned Owl, officially cleared for takeoff

Top tip: Give your Owl-Mighty Liftoff plenty of open sky behind him. Those wings deserve a proper audience, not a staring contest with the hedge.

Is this safe for outdoor weather? Absolutely. It's made from premium Corten® weathering steel, designed to develop a protective patina over time. A little weathering just adds to the character.

Does it come in a gift box? Sure does. Your Owl-Mighty Liftoff arrives flat in our large 16" × 13" × ¼" mailer-friendly box, ready to wrap, send, or hand over with a smug little "nailed it

Can I install it on a post or tree? Yes, provided the mounting surface is suitable. Follow the installation instructions supplied with your owl and use the recommended fixings to keep him securely in place.

Is the Great Horned Owl a real North American bird? Very much so. The Great Horned Owl is one of North America's most recognisable birds of prey, famous for its prominent feather tufts, powerful talons and remarkably quiet flight. Those impressive "horns" aren't actually horns or ears, just feathers. Nature showing off again.

What's the difference between this and your original Great Horned Owl? Our original Great Horned Owl is perched, keeping a watchful eye on the world. Owl-Mighty Liftoff captures him in full flight, wings spread and ready for action. Same magnificent species, a completely different perspective.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.

what’s the word on the bird?
